Orthognathic surgery to impact the posterior maxilla has long been the treatment choice for anterior open bites due to vertical maxillary excess. For cases where the posterior teeth have over-erupted, creating a premature stop in the hinge motion of mandibular closure, mini-screw implants are a natural alternate treatment option. In this CE webinar, Dr. Mohammad Razavi introduces the use of a temporary anchorage device system for palatal anchorage to control vertical dimension, and correction of anterior open bites. This presentation also highlights factors that should be taken into consideration in order to achieve reliable and predictable open bite correction.
